Littlebird Review: An AI Assistant With Work Memory, Not a Blank Chat

Littlebird reads the active window, transcribes meetings without a bot, and can connect optional tools. What it actually does, how plans work, and where privacy limits sit.

Most AI chats start from zero: you paste context, explain the project, and lose the thread between apps. Littlebird sells the opposite. The desktop app is supposed to use the active screen, meetings, and optional connected tools as memory. This review describes the documented mechanism, not the second-brain metaphor.

How Littlebird builds context

According to the product and FAQ pages, Littlebird watches the active window: the document, site, or thread you are working in. On macOS that requires accessibility permission. You can pause capture, exclude apps, and delete the last hour, the last day, or everything. Password fields are supposed to be ignored.

Integrations are optional. Without them, the app still works from screen context. With Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, Notion, Linear, and many other sources it can read more deeply and, where supported, take actions such as scheduling. The live list lives in Settings, not in a static marketing paragraph.

Meetings without a bot, help through Hummingbird

Meeting notes come from the computer’s audio output, not from an extra participant in Zoom, Teams, or Meet. Transcription stays invisible to others and works in any meeting app. Littlebird itself does not currently claim reliable speaker attribution. If you need named labels, test that on your own calls.

Before a call, Prep for meeting can pull context from email, past notes, and projects. During the call, Hummingbird opens a floating chat over the current app with a shortcut. It is the same chat without an app switch. For publishers and content teams that helps in editorial calls, briefs, and research. It does not replace a CMS or a link audit.

Plans, platforms, and honest limits

Littlebird is available for Mac and Windows, plus companion apps for iOS and Android. The free plan includes context, limited meeting notes, web search, mobile chat, and calendar/email connections. Plus is $17 a month billed annually or $20 billed monthly and unlocks unlimited meeting notes, stronger models, and image generation. Power is $42 or $50 and adds Littlebird MCP so tools such as Claude or Cursor can use the same memory. Pro starts at $100.

Data is stored encrypted on AWS. Littlebird cites SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA and says it does not train models on personal data. Screen contents still reach the cloud. For newsrooms handling client or health data, the app-exclusion list is required, not optional.

  • No meeting bot; transcription uses local computer audio
  • No claim of precise speaker labels
  • Unlimited notes start at Plus
  • MCP access to other AI tools starts at Power

Affiliate terms and a useful recommendation

The partner program currently lists up to 30% for one year and $20 off the first purchase. Do not reuse older program copy with different amounts. The referral download belongs in productivity comparisons; the application link belongs in affiliate-program articles.

Recommend Littlebird when readers need context across apps. Do not recommend it as an omniscient company memory or as a tool that audits affiliate tracking. That job still belongs to a specialized checker.
